    • Generally, you can return new, unopened items to Home Depot within 180 days of purchase. There are some exceptions, so check their return policy for details.
    • If you used a special Home Depot credit card or account to pay, you have even longer – up to 365 days – to return your items (again, with some exceptions).
    • With a receipt, you can get a refund in the way you paid (cash, credit card, etc.) or store credit. Gift card purchases are refunded as gift cards.
    • Lost your receipt? No problem! They might still find your purchase in their system. You have a longer wait time to find it if you paid by cash, but for credit cards and their special accounts, they can look back for a full year.
    • If you paid by credit or debit card, they can look up your purchase for up to 90 days with a valid ID.

    Returning to Home Depot

    In-Store:

    Home Pickup:

    Design Center:

    • Purchased there, return there.
    • Other stores’ items cannot be returned at the Design Center.

    Return Exceptions:

    • Some items have shorter return windows:
      • Furniture, rugs, gas equipment, some generators, electronics (TVs & computers) – 30 days
      • Design Center items – 90 days
